I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes in my car, a '68 Barracuda. I want to swap out the 10" drums and go with disc in the back, as I already have the 4 piston factory discs up front. Here's my concerns.
Has anyone used The Right Stuff rear disc brake conversion? I know it's 90's Ford T-bird calipers with built-in parking brakes. Can it be obtained with the 4" bolt pattern? (I already own the rims, the front are disc already)
Which master cylinder would I use for manual brakes with the above disc set-up?
Should I invest in the braided flex hoses at this point too along with DOT 5?
Should I scrap the Kelsey-Hayes front 4 piston units and just upgrade to the 4.5" bolt pattern late model brakes and get my polished Weld Pro Stars I want so badly I twitch....
I'm trying to upgrade my brakes without breaking the bank, which can easily happen here!

You are either looking at upgrading to the large lug pattern or finding an import rear disc setup (5x100) and doing something yourself.
I'm no pro but I am not aware of any small pattern kits.

I have the Doctor Diffs rear Cobra set up in small bolt pattern. Had it for a few years, works great.
What master cylinder are you using? Adjustable proportioning valve? Power or manual? Over the winter I want to upgrade the brakes for sure, but I don't want to change the bolt pattern or spend $700. And on the Dr. Diff web site there's no mention of bolt patterns. Even if they still offer the SBP, $700 with e-brake cables.....
Is this mostly for appearance? The actual amount of braking the rear does in these cars is minimal. I have upgraded both mine to rear disc, and to be honest, it does very little for braking, particularly if you have the 10 inch drums...

I want to upgrade my brakes and am asking for advice on a good performing, reliable, reasonably priced system. That's why. Appearance......

It took me a long time to find a 5/16" master... No you are correct I am using a 15/16" master.
The 5/16" master had a pretty low effort but the pedal travel, at roughly 2 feet, was a little excessive...

I used their kit, worked well. If I had known about the Dr Diff kit, may have gone with it. Have mine on a b body Dana 60. Changed the axles at the same time, just for freshening.
Kit came with a Wildwood manual master cylinder, 1 1/16 I believe.
