After cranking my 85 ShortBed & letting it run a while I decided to make a block & it died at the gate before hitting the street with the pickup in the tank clogged up Not having a spare & having plans for doing a RamCharger tank anyway I snatched the bed & started grinding & cutting rivets Here's a before & here's where I stopped this evening While having the bed off I took advantage of the bed being off & whacking at rivets I decided to do a little leveling so I lowered it 3" in the rear for the cheap

I did the tank swap on a '76 Club Cab I used to own 20+ yrs ago.... The only fitting issue I ran into was a channel on the bottom of the bed wanted to share the same space with the 'new' front crossmember. The truck rode so much better with all that weight being behind the axle and centralized. Made running duals a snap too.

I ran into that on my old 87 Lwb D150 Eventually it will get a aluminum fuel cell sunk in the bed but this will do for a while This is the tank I'll be putting in it has a #6 pickup tube & 5/16 return

The factory rear tank and crossmember must be different than an RC.

My old dually had a rear tank that seemed to sit lower in the frame than the RC tank does

The Shortbed crossmember is in the same exact spot as the RamCharger
Look where it sits on the frame
