Storing my car for the winter, just curious what others do to store their e85 motors. I have half a tank of fuel that I was thinking of just capping the fuel cell vent (sealing the system) and calling it good....thoughts? I was also going to drain the carb as well.

67 Barracuda street car, 408, e85, 1.38 60', 6.44 @105.9 in the 1/8 mile, 10.19 @130.5 in the 1/4...so far....

I've had good luck keeping the fuel bowls and entire system full of fuel. Every couple of weeks I run the fuel pumps for 10-15sec and bump the motor over if it's in the car and together. I also WD-40 the top of the carb to keep that white chalky crap from building up.
Otherwise, I drain the carb and WD-40 everything if the motor is out. Been running E85 for about 5 seasons now and don't have problems in the NY winters.

Drain the fuel cell, carb bowel and filters, put a gallon of 100% gas in the cell, pull the fuel line at the at the carb, turn on the fuel pump and purg the E85 out of the lines. Hook the fuel ,line back up to the carb, turn the pump on, start the engine, turn off the pump and let the bowel run out of fuel, spray WD40 in the bleeds, and down the venturies. Drain the rest of the 100% gas out of the fuel cell, wait for spring. I've been doing the for years and haven't had a problem so far. I used this same procedure when I was running alky in the RED.

I plan on keeping the entire system full, and starting the car on warmer days and letting it warm up. I have been putting this Lucas fuel additive that is supposed to prevent the crystalization of the fuel. Walmart caries it.
