I've got a solid roller cam I pulled out of a 470 I picked up a couple of months ago. I am not going roller, but I am trying to identify what it is. The markings on the end are as follows: 311/311 R8 24-24 J100b

Base measured to the best of my ability 1.02, measured lift 1.464, when you do the math, .666 at 1.5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I guess the time has come to order a degree wheel and figure out exactly what this cam is.

I believe this is a very old Cam Dynamics single pattern roller camshaft. The #24 profile is 282 degrees at .050" tappet lift, with .454" lobe lift. A lobe separation of 108 degrees is indicated. This would have been ground in the early 1970's. Is it a single bolt camshaft? Is it carburized steel billet (copper between the lobes), or an Endural cast steel core? Recommended valve lash is .030" on both intake and exhaust at operating temperature. Regards, Chase
