Lets talk cast iron 440 6 pack intakes. There are two part numbers 2946275 and 2946276. What is the difference if any between the two part numbers? I can't tell a difference on the car. What dates do you have of each one? Trying to find the earliest and latest casting dates, and what date they changed the part number on these. Thanks Moparts! I'll start: I have two 2946275 intakes with dates 6-17-69 and 7-11-69. I have one 2946276 dated 8-20-69

I have a 276 with no date - just the pentastar cast on manifold behind the front carb. There is a capital A in a triangle next to the 2946276 - that's it.
is there a date on the bottom? are you sure it isn't #2948276?

Fanning, that is a nice long list, how many years were you collecting the data? Do you think any other casting dates exist?
Looks like they were making both part numbers for about 2 months, that seems odd, if there really was a problem with the 275 casting.
Actually it was just a quick check through the active and completed auctions on ebay combined with the above listed dates. Hopefully others will chime in on this thread and add more part number/dates. With the number of hardcore numbers people on moparts we should be able to come up with a fairly complete list.

just checked the bottom - no date, but there is a tab that looks like say's NG? Also the part # looks like it "was" 2946276 to me - but I guess when it was removed from the mold some slag pulled out the 6?

I have a 71 440+6 Cuda, built September of 70 that was OE judged at the Mopar Nationals in 2013. The car is all numbers matching, however the 440+6 intake is dated 10/69. Paul Jacobs deducted points for the intake being earlier than the rest of the engine casting dates. I have been searching for a 440+6 intake cast in early to mid 1970 for the last year. I have checked all my sources including Ted Stevens and many other suppliers without success. I also ran a wanted ad on Moparts for several months without success. I am looking forward to the conclusion of this thread. The latest casting date I have found is 12/69
Were any intakes cast in 1970 or 1971?
I have a 71 SIXPACK Challenger with an SPD of 3/30/71
I've searched for over 20 years and have never found a manifold past 12/69
