I have decided if I'm keeping my 67 it's get a manual. Would like to go 4-spd and eventually the A855 for overdrive.

Well, a friend says he's found a trans with small block bell housing and shifter. Says it's a 23 spline from an A - body. Would there be any reason I couldn't use this? Another friend has a set of pedals and maybe linkage from a 67 GTX that was converted to auto.

I'm sure there are other parts like crossmember and hump, but hoping this might get me close.

Shifter location is different. I know there are plans on the net to make an adapter for a B trans in an A body, but not the other way around.

As I remember, the A shifter location is just behind the crossmember and the B just in front.

They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I can think of TWO reasons off the bat...1. shifter location. and 2. Increase drive shaft length by a bunch.
There are probably more reasons, but these two come to light right now. My . you'd be better off looking for a "B" body trans.

If I had a spare B-body trans around I would gladly swap you for an A-body trans.
I could do the conversion for you from A to B but it won't be cheap with shipping involved.

I put a B-Body Hemi trans in a Duster and it was not easy, I would not do it again. I am sure there is just as much aggravation with doing it the other way.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
