Putting a 68 Barracuda door back together (bought as a basket case). I am trying to install the vent window, and the lower guide rod will not slip all the way into the whole. I have the little pin lined up, but there must me some magical trick to get it all the way down. Any suggestions?

This lower guide rod? The rod is pinned, and the pin goes in the slot of the clamp.

The Phillips screw on the clamp needs to be backed off for the clamp to clear the pin that's in the rod. If the vent frame is still in the door, you might need to remove the whole frame to loosen that clamp.
