IMO go with titanium. Victory has been our choice with the last few engines.

I'm just going to throw this out there so you "gurus" can share your advice with us..
My B1 headed motor is currently being worked on by a builder that has built several high horsepower motors... and he is strongly in favor of the titanium valves.. however.... In the case of the B1 Original heads, he suggested against buying titanium... He said these heads dont make enough steam to warrant spending the money..
What he recommended was to save the money, sell the B1 Originals.. put the money together and buy a better... higher flowing head..
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts

If you want to RPM your motor higher than 7500 RPM with the B1 heads buy the Ti valves Don, aren't your B1 ported a bunch by a reliable company? It sounds to me like your engine builder may be wanting to sell you parts on swapping heads What are your choices for better heads, Predator or what? My old B1 heads flowed 420 CFM at .700 and up, yours should to

Just because a head flows 420 on a bench does not necessarily mean it is a GOOD head. Cross section plays a huge role in cylinder head performance. Big numbers do not always mean big power. If the cross section is to big the RPM needed to achieve any power can become an achilles heel and make any real power unobtainable. I believe that is what Jeepmon's guy is referring to. Yes they move a decent amount of air but the cross section is to big to realistically make good power. Also there are some other issues that need to be addressed with them.
Giving a good knowledgeable cylinder head guy a good casting and letting them do their thing to achieve the given goal at a useable RPM is key to making power and reliability. Using a head with a way to large cross section just to attain a CFM number is NOT the way to make power.
Just saying from my laymans perspective.

Brad, I can get the Ti valves, but you may want to get a fresh supply of nitro pills, so your heart can handle it...

Cab... there is no sales job going on here.. I believe the builder was just speaking his opinion..
I was able to get somewhere around 415 cfm flow outta of my B1 Originals.. and that was done on two different benches.. The B1MC flow somewhere around 450 and up... if the info I've been reading is correct, the Preds are capable of over 500 cfm...
So if the B1 Originals are max'd out in the low 400's... that means at best we're looking at 850-900 HP.. (give or take) Al's B1MC 500" motor was making close to 1100 HP (as reported by Al himself)..
The last time I checked, a titanium intake valve was real close to $1000 for the set of 8.. I would assume the exhaust set would be close... or slightly less due to being a smaller size.. Regardless, sell the B1's... add $2000-ish to it and one should be able to pick up a decent set of used heads that will make more power.. (I think thats the point my engine builder was trying to make)...
And with all that said, since my car is certified for no faster than 8.50, it wouldnt be too smart of me to pay for a monster motor.. and then be forced to spend even more money upgrading the chassis.. Si I am going to stay with the B1 O's and stainless valves..
Lastly, I'm not an engine builder and could be very easily talking out my behind.. but this is the information I've been told and just wanted to share it for other to chime in on...

how much did go for
cnc ?
Yes, it was the CNC... I had other work done to the heads at the same time... rocker stands milled for paired shafts, oil drain back holes, valve job, etc..
The total cost was quite reasonable.. If I can remember correctly... everything was about $1300... including shipping
