About to install CAA kit in my 69 Charger. Heard they are discontinuing the bracket that would allow for low mounting (under the alternator) the compressor. They have had to many complaints about belt squeal. Anyone have this mount, working OK for you? Anyone with squealing issues with this mount? Just don't like the compressor sitting on top of the engine, just looks all wrong.
Thanks!

I modified the Bouchillon low mount for the same reason. looks like this. Notice the 180+ degree belt wrap.

As you can see, I'm also running an AC/Delco CS144 alternator with the $35 adaptor bracket, but you wouldn't have to. It does put out 115 amps at a low idle though.

That's exactly how I ran mine and I have no problems either. I'm also running a gm alt. by powermaster.
Up to 94 amps at idle if needed and 140 amps at cruise if needed.

Did you just re-route the belts or did you have to machine the mount in anyway?

I just moved the brackets, but I do recall my fan belt pulley needed a spacer or two, which I got from Hughes. The CS144 is a larger bodied alternator than the smaller CS133 shown in the post above. Both put out more amperage at idle than any Mopar or Denso alternators at low idle. That's why I went with the CS144

I'm not sure about the Powermaster version, but the CS144 I'm running has remote voltage sensing and that is hooked to my battery in the trunk. It also feeds a 2 gauge cable, as it can put out up to 225 amps if called upon for it.

Mine is in the trunk for now. I'm going to put it inside the fuel tank over the winter using some parts from these guys and a surge tank in the trunk.

When you say moved the brackets.... just the bouchillon bracket? If so, did you have to drill new mounting holes in the bracket itself.
Or did you mean just moved the belts around.

Also,I don't see a mechanical fan on your water pump. If I use a spacer my clutch fan may be to close to the radiator.

No new holes and the spacers are only a few thousandth of an inch thick.
