I'm considering removing the vent (wing) window on my A100. I've seen some pictures recently where it's been done. What's the obstacles involved in doing this. I like the look and would attempt to do it if not real difficult.

That's a huge undertaking for a novice to do. You would have to invent a front window track and rubber seal that would control the glass above and below the top edge of the door. I'm pretty sure the A-100 still uses flat glass so having new glass made would be possible. You may also need to fabricate a new bottom window channel. The logistics of making the window roll up and down could be a nightmare. It's ultimately your call but I don't know if it's something I would try.

VW guys have been removing them from Beetles since the 80's. I know it's an apples to oranges comparison, but you might get an idea of what's involved by checking out some of their forums. Removing that vent window from the A-100 would give it a much cleaner look, in my opinion.

After looking at the picture of the A-100 in your other post it looks like the glass would not roll all the way down into the door with the vent window eliminated. That's definitely the first thing I would want to check prior to dismantling anything.

I haven't yet looked into doing this, but I do like the look. I need to check up indsie the doors to see if this can be done with little to no trouble. Knowing me, I'll try it any ways!
