Hello, i am looking for a location for my electric fuel pump and was wondering if the location behind the spare tire on the lower valance? would be a good spot. seems like it would be to me. any one disagree or have a better spot?

Thanks

You want it as close to the tank as possible. Best bet is up against the frame on the side the fuel line runs. What brand and output is that pump. It looks a bit small to me.

and if it's on sheet metal you might get a lot of extra noise.

its a walbro GSL-392 (output is 255 lph) i was planning on using some of those rubber isolation mounts to reduce the noise. i was looking at the frame rail just seemed alittle to close to the exhaust. I'm probably just being paranoid though.

I made the mistake of mounting my carter pump on the back side of the trunk floor in my Road Runner. all the rubber isolators in the world doesn't help it. it's moving to the frame rail when I finally get my new sending unit...

Think my major concern with your location would be if you get rear ended, it would be a prime source for disaster.

normally on an A or B body, the frame rail near the front spring perch is best, It's somewhat protected and below the tank for gravity feed which most electric pumps like ???

On my A-Body I mounted the pump and filter just on the other side of that - I mounted both to the rear of the spare tire well - has a little better protection and I had no issues with fuel delivery or fuel pickup from the stock sender location

That pump is not going to be happy pulling. It needs to be low and close to the bottom of the tank.
