Is there any companies that still make a rope rear main seal for a small block? I can't find anything. This is for a bone stock '68 273.

That is listed for a big block only.

Will it also work with the small block. I understand that the ends are just cut to length, but is the diameter of the seal the same between big and small blocks?

i just ordered that big block one for a 273 i`m about to final assembly. cut it the right length and make sure the part line isn`t horizontal like the main cap.

On a prior post/thread way back a guy said he cut it a hair long on the ends then folded the threads back in to the center plus a slight offset as mentioned & it kept his dry as a bone. Also iirc he put a drop of RTV on each end junction also. The Victor Reinz kit gives you a big tube of it. EDIT & RTV under the seal in the block/cap halves & roll the seal down in the groove with a socket
