I recently did the mini tub and moved the leaf springs inboard on my 65' Belvedere. I ordered the springs -1 inch ride height and have a 1/2 inch lowering spacer installed. With the factory dimension shocks it only left me with maybe 1 inch of usable travel.
My question is do you have to order custom shocks for the application or do Strange, Afco, or QA1 sell something that will fit?

I am cheap, so I went with the Calvert (Rancho) single adjustables...called them, told them my static, extended and compressed heights, they sent me shocks....

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, I would really like to have a set of double adjustables for this build.

I had the ranchos on it when it ran that number a few years ago. Since then I have done a few suspension mods, put an auto in it, changed the rear to a 9 in, changed camshaft and ported heads and added a plate kit to it. Would the single adjustable still suffice for me ?(serious question not trying to be smart)

Probably not due to you making more power and the spray.. a lot of guys running them are right at the max setting so it doesnt leave anything left for adjusting... you would be better off with some quality shocks ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

I recently purchased a set of Vi-king double adjustable shocks. Also will change the front top mount to eliminate the shock stud that comes into the engine compartment. Worked with Chris to determine the dimentions I needed up front, and added the more aggressive valving for the rear. I believe gains could be seen even with cars in the 11's ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/image_294343.gif)
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!
