is it possible to disable the elec. seat belt system on a 1974 charger? I am almost done with my sons and sometimes it starts with the key, sometimes not and light "fasten seat belts" comes on. I can jump it at the selenoid and it starts right up? Thanks.

The seat belt interlock was commonly removed back in the day. Seems enough people complained to their congressmen that the rule was rescinded and dealers were allowed to disable them.

There should be something online about how to.

with just fit a jumper wire between the two yellow wires arriving to reset button into engine bay, will be enough.

need to note that yours sytem could be working correctly, but you are not following the door- seatbelt-start sequence

I unplugged my seat belt plugs right at the trans tunnel for 20 years. 10 years ago I rewired the car and put it back in working order. Got to be careful if you got something heavy on the pass seat as it won't start unless you plug in the seat belt on the pass side.

I use my seat belts now a days so it don't bother me much.

Make sure it's not the nutrel safety switch giving you trouble and not the seat belts by temporary jumping the starter relay to ground to eliminate that.
