Never heard of a 440 "R"
Always heard of 440's referred to as Raised Block = "RB" because of the additional heigth of the block beyond that of the 383 block.

1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's
1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Iv'e never heard of a 440 R motor either

440's are RB's. ( as are 426 wedge, 413, rb 383 )
383's are B's (as are 350's 361, and 400)

Even the hd 440 industrial motor's are pretty much the same block, just other differences, like heads, etc..
