Tony took the time to help me design, spec most parts, and he built me a new 604 predator. I know there are others out there but, Tony is one of the people that have actually built, designed, raced and kept these unusual engines alive while ruling the bracket boat world. While this engine is not ideal, he actually spec'd the camshaft for a 540 with a short stroke and 4.500 bore. It is by no means a max effort build and hopefully will just be able to keep up with the aluminum B1/MC I have been running, as the car will weigh 200#'s more. Thanks a bunch Tony, I'm on my way back out to work on this beast. You may need to come out here and have another talk with it, it's fighting me again.....Thanks again!

Not to hijack but what bracket do you run in? One of the local boat racers runs a Ford powered jet boat in the 9.0 class, thier prepping it to run the 8.0 class next year, they say
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

We run the 8.0 class with a pair of plate air t-stops tied together... have been 6.80s in the quarter at over 165 with the stops off, or 8.0s at 155-160 with the stops on.

I've always thought that trying to go fast in a jet boat was way more of a challenge than I wanted to try I like your picture, running on the prop with no boat in the water in the rear past the prop shaft strut I'm suprised that you don't have a capsule

Add a capsule and slow the boat down a second or more... my boat weighs 1666lb.

Yes, It's steel. I was wanting to go with aluminum, but didn't want to wait forever and Todd Marsh had one for a fair price.
How did you get a 4.560 bore out of that thing? I hope it really thunders.

I hope you have already worked out the High HP bugs in your dragster! Some people tend to think in a dragster you can just plug & play, but just like in a door-car when you go past a certain point that all changes. I have found out that when you start making Big Horse-Power the torque converter really comes into play, its much harder to get it right. And if it ain't right it can kill more ET than you would ever think! PS OOoops I forgot "Good Luck"

Thanks Billy, yeah it's been a pain to manage the new horsepower goals on the last few efforts. I did get the B1/MC to get into the mid 7.20's though at 1870#'s. Thanks to guys like Tony, hopefully I'll be able to continue my quest for 6's
