This fall we are going to be playing with street hemi and want to keep intake and carbs "looking stock" but of course want all the power we can get. I thought I would put this out there to hear about real world experiences and results. We have dyno and complete machince shop with flow beach and even CNC. Anybody try or use the Arruzza stuff?

I did some dyno testing on this. The Vanke modification, with 750 carbs was worth about 20 rear wheel horse over stock intake and carbs, and is a very easy modification to do.
A stock intake, completely gutted an turned into a single plane is worth 35 horse over a Vanke.

Are you saying to just remove all of the center divider material under both carbs there is completely or more to it than that?

converting to a single plane involves a complete reconstruction of the manifold. I've seen it done a couple of different ways. It's not worth doing unless you really have to have a stock appearing intake, such as in f.a.s.t racing. Stage V makes a nice in line dual 4 single plane intake that makes awesome power. if you paint it orange it will look kinda sorta stock to most people.

Thanks Joel for the replies. I guess you are the only one on here to have worked on a street hemi. I see you are doing a RO23 car. we would like to get our hands on a factory or steel hood scoop any ideas where?

Contact www.restorick.com and ask him to put you in contact with Domingo, he can get a steel Hemi scoop made for you. Not cheap but they are very convincing replicas.

If you need a source for some stock appearing Hemi carbs with 750 (or more) CFM each, I can help you with that!

Kramer has a real one on Ebay right now:

Nothing against Domingos' scoop, but if you are restoring a real RO23, I would use an original scoop if possible.

Rick has one in stock. He sent pictures and it looks very nice. Thanks. Can you PM me with a little more on the carbs?
