I have not counted in ages, but Rallye Red AARs are definitely the most common.

Great, thanks. Do you know what the next 2 most popular are? I'm hoping to get the top three most popular colors.

Do you know that as fact ? I only ask because red is not the color I see the most. In fact I myself dont see many red ones at all but I can be wrong. It just seems like red is not the most common to me but I have no facts to back it up just going by what I see. Thats why I wonder if you know that for sure ? Ron

Is Tor Red figured into the "red" count, or are you considering it orange?

Ron,
The count is from code data from the AARs accounted so far in the 1970 Hamtramck Registry.

David,
I edited the first post, it does not include Tor-Red cars.

I would agree that FE5 Red was the most common color on the AAR .
I know when I was collecting A53 numbers I had a huge amount of red AARs, as well as FY1 Lemon twist .
I would think it would be alot more fun to collect the bottom 3 colors . I believe off the top of my head EB7 Jamaica Blue was way down there .(Based off of known to exist cars of course)

Also, a general disclaimer, I can only count cars known to me, so any actual number I quote today can go up at any time as more data comes in.

There is this web page of cars.
http://www.transamcuda.com/aarvins.htm

I don't know who is who as far as site owners and list keepers, so this is just so the OP has a better idea of the numbers. Not trying to step on any toes!

Thanks as I would not have guessed that. Ron

Link above is to Jeff's site, he is a pal. But for whatever reason, that list has not been updated in a long time.

I do not believe in percentages for something like this because no one can say for sure exactly how many were built of each of them.

Without an accurate total as a base number, any percentage would be a guess at best.

That said, as of right now I am aware of 1,437 T/As so far & 1,542 AARs so far.

Some of those are only VINs without all the details though, correct?

Yes.

The numbers include all known to have been built if they can be recorded with a VIN. So this includes T/A blocks, broadcast sheets, window stickers, dealer files etc., etc.
