I bought a 1978 Ramcharger with a factory 440 and power brakes. From what I see ,to get the valve cover off on the drivers side you have to remove the power brake booster .unless they replaced the booster with a wrong one?? Is there a special valve cover like they used on 67 vettes with power brakes? they ihad a notch on the corner to fit. lil help want to change out gaskets.

I can't help on this, mine have all been small blocks.

I do know there were some smaller diameter boosters, so it is possible over the years a hard to find BB booster was replaced with the larger diameter small block one ...

Do a search, there has been a recent series of posts about this. Good luck!

They used the same stamped steel cover as the rest.

And as long as the smaller diameter booster (its smaller diameter, but longer) is used and not the large diameter pancake booster, there is just enough room to roll the valve cover off the rockers.

Its sort of like playing Operation.

The small booster is also used on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Big or Small block.

If it already has power steering, a Hydroboost power brake setup is a no-brainer.

You'll have all the room in the world.

Bendix makes'em, they're pretty much all the same.

On my 1978 440 d300 dually,I have to take the booster/master cyl loose from the firewall to get the valve cover off.Dont take lines loose ,Just 4 bolts and lay it to the side for a couple minutes. That cover now leaks but its too much trouble to change so.....stinky burning oil smell for me.Oh,it does have the small diameter booster.
