Painting the Cuda and I want a nice brite good looking red. Whatcha guy's using?

I'm going to be following this thread for my build. Are you looking for a BC/CC or a single stage?

I know that if we bought 5 different gallons of red they would all be a different shade. I want it to look correct but right on the edge of acceptable. So as spicy as we can and still look some what correct.

IMHO Mopar Pallye Red for 71 is kind of a "dead red" as far as brilliance, if "spicy" is your flavor, I was going to suggest Dupont BC/CC Hot Hues line of "RED HOT MELTDOWN" has a little pearl and candy in it.... depending on the lighting and angle can appear deep red, bright red, or a slight orange hue because of the candy/pearl init...

Dodge 2008 Flame Red. Same red that's on their new trucks.

Now that's a good looking red. I'm not terribly familiar with rally red. Is that color even close?

I'm not all that familiar with Rallye Red, but the paint chip on
google, looks darker. The pic I posted wasn't cut & buffed yet, but
still is a good representation of what Flame red looks like.
My neighbor has a 2012 Dodge Ram & its the exact same color.

This is Juliano's all original 2000 mile 71 Ralley red HEMICUDA....Ralley Red in person depending on the lighting will appear dark red at times, or in the sunlight take on "orange" hues at different angles....one of the reasons I sujested Dupont's Hot Hues "Red Hot Meltdown" color, it's like Ralley Red but on the spicey side...

This is FE5 Rallye Red in Sikkens Urethane enamel, single stage. Painted back in 1994.

Dave, I do like the color of your car. That's about perfect.

my ralley red 71 RR was shot with bc/cc in Nason/dupont. I'd recommend not using it. I think the color was a bit dark and the shine was off.

If I was going to do it over again, I'd go with PPG single stage or Glasurit/BASF.

My challenger was painted with Glassurit single stage paint

I'm currently painting a Challenger w the Barret Jackson paint line Red....it's still in the can. But hopefully will be on the car in a couple months.
