72 Cuda. Working on a budget. After extensive searching for a header back system, I settled on a Summit Racing kit. $200 complete. Anybody install their exhaust kits?

I used the comparable Jegs kit that cost about the same. It was all made in USA, mandrel bent. I welded mine together rather than clamps. The mufflers are at the rear like stock but actually turbos. I installed it on a '74 Challenger. I have hooker headers. I had to add about 8 inches of tube to the driver side after the header.

Other than that a good fit and buy for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again just for the pipes.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

I have Hooker headers too. I'll remember that.

I used a 2 1/2" kit from jegs on an A-body, I welded it up instead of the clamps. I thought it was a real nice kit.

It's the same piece from Summit and Jegs, so go with whoever is cheaper (I saved $20 IIRC at Jegs when I bought mine)

Where do these exhaust systems exit in the rear, under the rear valance or through the valance cutouts to be used with factory style exhaust tips?

RUN, RUN, RUN...

I got a lot of options on these and while the A-body one fits very well, the E- body kit does not fit at ALL!

If you want to keep the tips, forget it, if you have a 4-speed forget it (the exhaust wants to be in the same place as the reverse linkage.

They put the mufflers under the trunk; where the resonators use to go.

I hear for the $ the pypes system is not bad, but I have not installed it.

I have over $400 in trying to have the exhaust shop try to just make the system somewhat fit! - knowing (for a total of $600 in this kit) for that price I could have got a TTI setup.

not sure about the E's but I bought the 3" for my 70 Charger. I haven't installed it yet but I did a "dry run" on the pass side. It seems like it's going to fit w/o too much trouble. Google image it and see.
