Who sells the most budget friendly kit out there? I saw magnum force but the $600 price tag seems alittle steep. Is there anyone else out there selling one?

waste your money

I'm just looking to free up space under the car by loosing the torsion bars and possibly going to rack and pinion. The motor I've got going in with the 4 speed is a strong runner but not a real powerhouse so I'm trying to lighten the car up anywhere I can. The inner fenders and radiator support were butchered so they left and I've got down bars and an aluminium rad. support fab'd and ready to go on now. Just looking into changing up the suspension while I'm in there.

You could get rid of all that stuff for $2000, thats
Strange struts and brakes.. the only thing you need to
buy is the rack... way lighter and really opens up
the front.. and thats adjustable struts... come with
the lower arms and ball joints... it might sound like
a lot of money but if you think of buying all the A-arm
coil over stuff with brakes.. its a decent price

If you go to ForAbodysonly in the early A section and search my user name gregsdart, a thread for a rack conversion will pop up. You will need a narrow rack from ART which is five inches narrower if you plan to use stock lower control arms. Disc brakes are required for tie rod end location. The stock lower control arms are very long compared to the MII system, requiring the short rack for proper bump steer. There is no cheap way out on the shock conversion. You can go single adjustable QA1s for about $420 for the pair with springs.

I'll look up the rack conversion, I think I can do that pretty easy with some guidance. As for the shocks I guess I'll just bite the bullet and get the magnumforce kit...

Another good option is to call Bob at Bob's ProFab. Good guy and good parts.

If a rack conversion like mine is done, it requires a truck pan to clear the K member the way I did it. I used a plate welded to the bottom of the K to stiffen the whole deal up a lot and have something to mount what was left of the original K when it was cut for the rack.

Do you have any pics? Forabodiesonly wouldn't display them. I'm really leaning towards this, I think the fab required should be within my skill set.
