Looking to have my 440-1 heads cnc ported. I've called modern several times with no luck. Who else does it? What's the going rate for cnc porting?

I know modern is very busy, but he is very good.
I would try to PM Bob on here and keep trying to get a hold of him.
He was running a batch of big block heads, so he might be able to get you in?

Modern, or just go through Scott Brown, you can get him buyracingparts.com

Scott does all my heads intakes and cams, great results for me !

Doesn't Scott use Modern himself? I would just deal direct with Modern

Yes he does, but I'm saying go through Scott is sometimes easier than dealing with modern. That's all, I consider my 440-1 to be the best ones I've seen, can't argue with 5.30's @ 132 , 3350lbs and a "street" roller cam from Scott.

A lot of the engine guys in this area use Modern..
thats why he is hard to get in touch with(he is busy)
EDIT
He did my B1M/C heads(I should say his brother did
them before his passing)

Travis Knowlton (Knowlton Thunder Heads&Racing Engines) and Chuck Lofgren (Lofgren Auto Specialties) teamed up together awhile back. Travis is excellent, but busy too. I was very pleased with Travis' CNC work on some Gen 3 heads he did for me. I know he has CNC programs for Mopar B/RB stuff too.

That's how I do it. Never had a problem.

Do you have flow data on those heads? I would like to see how they compare to my CNC 325s.

Yes I have a flow sheet, says they go 385 on the intake on a 4.375 bore

Talk to the guys at Fastlane Machine in Orem, Utah. They got some of the CNC programs when Chapman went out of business. I've worked with them on a few heads and they are really good.

Question would be why?
How fast you running now?
How fast do you exspect to run ?
Are you just porting head no other changes?
Reson for asking i have seen stock heads run eddie jr run
Ported eddies run , and cnc ported jr heads run
In several combos from 474 motors to 540
In various cars wieghts
Dynos prove nothing to me as to many have known to be not reliable
As well as many flow benches
What i would rather see is some one that has actually taken thier heads
Take stock ones off run them. Put set of thier so call ported stuff
Make no other changes see what the actual pick up really is
in the real world

Dwayne Porter does excellent work on Indy heads. He doesn't have a CNC but he gets good numbers. He'll also help you with a camshaft recommendation as well as other engine suggestions.
