So I've got a 451 motor apart for many years.
I decided I can't trust the old aluminum rods due to bearing wear and unknown length of service.
So I'd like to find steel replacements of a similar weight.
Usage will be either back into the race car (71 cuda, 2600#, 451/PG W/5K stall converter, ran 10.70s with ported 906s, roller cam and single 4, showed a solid 500 HP on a chassis dyno) which requires a good quality rod, OR it will go into the A-100 with a milder cam for mainly street use, which will not see as much abuse.
The rods in it are BME aluminum marked 426, length is 6.76", .990" pin and the weight is
770 grams with bearing (yeah, I should have removed them to weigh).
The pistons a Venolia and are light too (not big heavy TRWs)
I see that Eagle should be avoided, so the question is, what brand rods would you suggest and will any of them be close to the same weight?

Again, will require adding weight to the crank to balance!
Oh, and BME doesn't have a catalog I could find.
http://bmeltd.com/rods.htmbut the price list shows the 426 forging at 179 each jobber for "inventory rods". That's over 1400 bucks. Kind of tough to go that way, although it would certainly be overkill for my needs.
