I've had a new front parking brake cable for years. Started to put it in the other night and something isn't right. Cable won't fit through retainer because cable end is too big. Needs a slot in retainer or something like that. Any trick to this? Try to post a pic of what I have later.

aftermarket brand?..wasn't there a problem with those??

Came from in line tube i think. My old housing, they redid the cable. But the retainer on the end of the cable won't let it go through the hole in the bracket on the petal. Looks like the bracket should a been put on the cable before the retainer thing was crimped on.

If you're going to use it you'll need to file the cable end to get it in there...IIRC there was also a length issue on the cable so check everything out well before install...
