The combo is a 1990 Dakota street truck(approx 3550-3600lbs with driver),3.73's,stockish 727, PTC 9.5" converter that flashed 3800 with the former stock lower end 360 magnum, 750HP holley, 1 5/8" Hooker headers,Edelbrock RPM intake. The new shortblock is 408" with 10.2 to 1 comp, hyd roller 237/245 .585 108lsa in @ 105,Same Magnum R/T heads 2.02/1.6 no flow bench help ,valve springs are 170/395open doubles. Other than increased cubes, slight comp increase,10ish degrees more duration and slight lift(area increase)it's the same as it has been for years. LOL any guesses? Should know some answers Friday nite so.......Why not take a shot??

Both good guesses and mine was 11.20ish. the truck made 4 or 5 passes and went a best of 11.33@117mph. I guess with the poor conditions, over 20% converter slip and other easy things to correct(no tuning done etc) a 10.90 is in there somewhere. The guy that owns it wanted an 11.50 in the heat so we are well past that point. The best with the old short was 11.92 in great conditions(average around 12.20).

Runs good.
Thanks and yes, I thought it was a good first outing with a simple combo with limiting features. All I did was add a little timing as I was too busy sweating to feel like doing more on it's first outing.

Nice times! With some tuning it might see Eleven O's/ 10 90's!
Yep,there is more left for sure and in great air even without tuning it would pick up a couple numbers. The trouble is this combo will see 150 or so shot of N20 and the converter is already in distress without any help. LOL I will talk to Kenny and come up with a plan to get things on the right track. The stone stock rpm intake manifold is another issue.

I know from our previous conversations he was on a budget building the truck, so if you are looking for a decent converter for not a lot of money check out Freakshow Performance. I just installed one of their 9.5" converters in my 904 for spray, I paid about $400 shipped, lifetime warranty, free restall whenever you want. I haven't taken it to the track yet, but on the street so far it is nice and tight driving around yet really wakes up when im on it. Hopefully I can get it to the track in the next week or two to see what it does.
Just thought I'd throw the idea out there
