Got to look at a '71, four speed Super Bee this past weekend. It needs a complete restoration and not sure I could even get it but what was I looking at as far as rarity? It had a sticker on the door post "For Export Only". It was a no frills car. Obviously sold as pure muscle.

Sorry. This thing was stuck in a hoarder's one car garage with nearly no lighting. It was really hard to even get around. Had to use a small flash light to see what I could. Have to think this thing has a bit of a story. The current owner is the second owner and he parked it in this garage over 20 years ago.

Generally it means it was ordered overseas and picked up in the states, usually by military personnel.

Originally 383 that now is a 440. 4 speed with console. Rear end gear has been changed but owner still has original. Not sure what ratio. Of course 8.75.

71 Superbees are too rare, but they are not common either. the 4speed as uniquiness to it for sure. What color combination? If it is an export car, I think the VON might have had an E at the beginning. I know some years did.

You might want to visit Johnny's site..

TELL ME ABOUT THE SPEEDO ? KILO OR MILES ?

if you get it ( or not but if posible ) I'm willing to trade my 150 miles speedo for a 240 KM speedo. I HAVE BEING FOR YEARS ON THIS... Locally some weird 74 Coronets SEs ( local model ) were equipped with rallye clusters and of course Kilo speedos, but mostly unworking or not interested owners.

Speedo is MPH Ralley Cluster. The color combo is red w/black interior (what's left of it).
The car is three hours from my house. I left the guy my phone number because he said he had given it to his son but obviously the son has no interest seeing how long it has sat in the basement. I asked the guy to price it but he wouldn't and I had no idea what the value might be because it would take a major restoration to return it to it's original glory.
So it is likely the car was never slated to shipped overseas only to be picked up by a returning soldier, if I understand correctly?

Not necessarily, it could have spent time overseas before returning.
