I found about 10 pictures of this car from 1970. In all the pictures the car had plain black steel wheels on the back. The last 2 I've found the car has had slots on the back. I talked to dad about it but he doesn't remember when he changed to slots. Regardless now the slicks are mounted on slots. I think I like it better... Special thx to the guy in Ohio who hooked me up with the NOS DODGE emblem for the hood. A few more pieces of window trim, some more tuning and I hope to make a pass this summer.

Engine is: 69 340 .060 over 10.5-1 318 Truck steel crank with 5 1/4" damper 273 rods Racer Brown SR-21 solid cam Eddy alum heads 1.5 ratio rockers Doug's headers M-1 intake C&S Specialties 750 Holley Carb MSD distributor MSD Streetfighter Ign box (rev limiter at 6500) Champion Radiator
Transmission is:
727 with shift kit 3500 Fairbanks converter
Rear:
8 3/4 3.23 clutch-pac posi 28x9.25 M&H Racemaster Nostalgic Slicks
If it tips the 12's with a 3.23 gear I'm happy with it. Dad is 75 and hasn't drag raced since 1971, he doesn't need to go any faster...

349 ci. with the .060 overbore 318/340 cranks are the same dimensions. If it hooks, it should go deep in the 12's...yes with 3.23's! Looking forward to the track report...

One of the coolest things I like about it is the fact I was able to get the painter of the original car to do the re-creation also. I owe a huge debt of thx to Charlie Murray in Grantsville Md. for that. Charlie is 72 years young and painted this in December 2013.
