Instead of taking things apart Bottom end is together. Very happy with the pistons from Diamond. Perfect fit. D-day (dyno day) is the 3rd week of June. I want it buttoned up tomorrow....

Thanks. Only new parts are pistons and rod bearings... it's a bit overkill for an 11:1 pump gas motor but hey, use what you got

GRP aluminum rods, Bryant Billet crank, hell-fire rings, coated Clevite bearings. Compression drop was from 15:1 to 11:1. Big time fuel downgrade. Was VP C-16, now 93 pump.

Looking good, Jim! Should run easy 11's all day long! j/k. Since you made a big change in compression, did you change the cam as well?

Yes, I put a little smaller cam in it too. It's actually the first cam I had in this motor. It's .690/.660 lift and 272/282 @ .050. Cam I took out was .750/.730 and 281/288 @ .050. Both cams are 112 lobe separation.

Speaking of cams, I got that in today and got the oil pan on. I need a new harmonic balancer before I put the heads on. I can't see the timing marks on mine anymore, it's too corroded to see the markings on it. Once I have that I want to double check where the cam is at and check TDC marks on the balancer.

Jimmy, very cool to get it back to racing. Man I wished I could jump on ownning that thing. Not yet. How are the wires holding up? Been a long time, eh?. Let me know. You got those original Firecores maybe 6 or 7 years ago, at least. Thanks..

My cam`s very similar except mines on a 108 lsa and works great on the street w/the mild lobes. Should be fast AND fun.............

Very nice! I think you'll be enjoying the car a lot more after these changes.
