I have the front and rear springs from a72 B300 motorhome. Will they fit into my 72 D200? I measured out the rear springs. The ones on my truck (with weight on them) measure about 52 1/4. The motorhome ones measure about 52 1/2 (unloaded). And also would the coils fit on the front? Thanks

B series vans share the same part numbers with the D series trucks on the front coil springs. On the rear leaf springs I see no common numbers between these two. So for the rear I would have to guess no.....?

What Chrysler Parts book are you reading?

If need be I can photograph with great detail the pages from the catalogs covering 72-85 for you.

The D series used two different length springs with trucks having 1/2" lugs having the shorter of the two & trucks with 9/16" & larger lugs having the long ones

That's one I did a couple years ago for a guy

Didn't you like the replies you got on the same question in the Q&A section?

I found these part numbers in a 72 light duty parts catalog....

For example it shows that if you had a B300 with the 1400 lb. coil spring its part number 3492934.

If you have a D200 with the 1400 lb. coil spring its also 3492934. So why would this not work?

The numbers are the same for the 1550 lb. springs also...

I stated that I didnt know about the rear springs because I didnt see any common part numbers.....

The # you posted is for a D100 only by my Chrysler catalog
The van springs are 40000-410000 series part #'s van springs are a different height & rate/diameter due to vans being more nose heavy than a truck

Why would a spring for a 100-200 series truck be used for a 1 ton MH
Look at that part# on my page above
Besides Chrysler parts books have their own little interchange info when the #s are used for more than one line

Its hard to read but I think the 3492934 part number on your sheet lists the D100 and D200 trucks... Does your chart list any B series numbers? I can agree that they would not use a small 1/2 ton coil on a 1 ton van. The 72 parts catalog lists a 1100 lb. coil for the B100 van, (3492932) and its not listed for the B200 B300. The 1400 lb coil number I used was just an example because we dont know exactly what he has. But i do agree that a Motor home should have a heavy front coil. So lets use the largest coil available in the 72 catalog for a B300. Its a 1550 lb. coil number 3492936. This part number is also listed for the D200 trucks. So again I dont see why he couldnt put the coil from his 72 B300 into his 72 D200. I should add that the 72 catalog does have one more larger coil. Its a 1725 lb. coil (3496341) but its only listed for the D200 D300 trucks. Its hard to know why he wants to put these other coils into his truck. But until we know exactly what he has they could be larger or smaller than his D200. I could try to post this page from the parts catalog If you would like. The 72 catalog does not have any 4000 000 series part numbers.

My apologies on the confusion on the part #s

I was looking at the motorhome springs not the standard van part #s
The motorhome #s are as follows
3496 340 1500-1750lb
4032 442 1575-1725lb
3496 341 1725-1915lb
4096 492 1850-2050lb

I would guess that the top two are single wheel one ton with 9/16" or larger lug studs & the bottom two dually

I am reminded that the front suspension on a '72 2WWD is one-year-only. I don't know what the differences are, though.

Sway bar attachment & Lca's are different for 72 but demensions are the same as 73 newer
The van stuff is 71-2 only & changed in 73 too
They are like a truck you could have a pocketed or non pocketed LCAs. 73 & newer vans all have pocketed LCAs
The lighter duty vans used that 934 spring but at a different rating due to installed height being different

My 72 catalog does not list these as motorhome or B series springs. But I cant say they were not used in that application. I can tell you that the 3496 340 and 341 springs are listed for use on D200 and D300 trucks in this 72 parts catalog. The 4000 part numbers must be a newer number. So I'm going to stick with my original answer and say that yes you could use the 72 B/Motorhome springs on your D200 truck if thats what you wanted to do.... But its up to you (the owner) to find out if they are the correct rate spring for what you want to do with this truck.

The way it looks one would have to compare height as the last 4 I posted also fit 4000# & heavier front axle 9/16 & larger lugs single & dual wheel trucks

He would need HD suspension to use them They are the same springs available for my LWB CrewCab with 4000# axle

I've been looking at the same & what's left of a supplement to it

I've got almost every Mopar Truck book from 1948 to 93
