I recently bought a 70 challenger rt se that is a 440 4 speed super track pack car.I was thinking this is a somewhat unusual combo,Ive only ever had A34 on 6bbl and hemi cars before this.Then I saw the post about the sunroof rt and noticed its an a34 car as well,maybe its not so uncommom or are these 2 cars flukes?

I wouldn't say rare, but pretty uncommon. I bought a 70 GTX 4 sp 440/4 last year and it is a super track pack car, you don't see too many.

What makes your car rare is the fact that it's an SE with a 4spd. It's 1 of 142 (RT/SE, 440, 4v, 4spd).

It truly becomes rare when you go to sell

There was only two choices you either got the Track Pack with 3:54's or Super Track Pack with the 4:10's behind the 4-speed with 440 cars in 1970.

I don't think either would be a deal breaker for anyone.
4:10's came with power discs.

What car are we talking about? Any pics?

There were two cars that i grew up with in Abilene. I owned one for a short time(like two days) It was a 70 440-6 Challenger, 4 speed 4.10 dana. The other was a friend of mine's 70 440-6. 4 speed 4.10 dana. Both long gone now.

The shaker on a 440 4v is really rare on a Challenger. Does the car have power steering? I had a 70 Cuda 440 4v with a super track pack back in the day.It had manual steering.I think they only made like 234 440 4v spd Cudas in 70. They made many more 6 pack cars. The 440 4v Challenger RT's were much more common then the Cuda. That is going to be a really nice car when its completed.

If this isn't one of the 2, there is a U code N96 4 speed Convertible 70 Challenger out there.

The two I know of are the restored cream/red/red car in bc Canada(la built) and there was also a black car near Spokane a few years back.Neither car has a sheet but the history is known on the cream car.A 440 4v shaker rag ,documented,would be an amazing find.

Galen's numbers on the '70 Challenger R/T (JS) line seem to be missing some info - I'd bet the source info was difficult/impossible to read.

it looks roughly like (combined for all E74, E86, E87 w/4-speed):
JS23 (60% 3.54 & 40% 4.10)
JS27 (50% 3.54 & 50% 4.10)
JS29 (65% 3.54 & 35% 4.10)

Yes. I have a 1970 Challenger R/T that is a 440+6 automatic with the Super High Performance Axle Package.

I have also had a 440-4 automatic with that option.
