My 79 d100 step side is manual steering and I want to convert it over to power. What is needed to do the swap over to power steering. It's a slant six standard on the column.
I have a power steering unit on a 360 80 trailduster 4x4 down back I'm not sure if I can use any thing off of that or not.
It's a bear to steer with the manual steering.

Check the post about swapping to manual, why not trade?

I'm going to order a new steering box from advanced and pick up a borgeson steering shaft. Any one know where to pick up the shaft from? Can I go direct and buy it straight from them or is it cheaper to get one some where else?

I didn't have much luck with my generic rebuilt box. Still had quite a bit of play that couldn't be adjusted out.

Just got one from Benchwork Steering in Arizona. They put in oversized BBs to completely eliminate the play, and I think it came out cheaper than the first rebuild I got.

He did say it would have increased steering effort (so the wheel isn't incredibly easy to turn), but it was the same as the old box.

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I would be interested in your old pitman arm and steering shaft if you want to get rid of it
