I have an 88 d100 with power steering. Will an 88 manual steering box just bolt up, or are there other components that will need to be changed as well?

Thanks.

The intermediate steering shaft is longer for a manual box the shaft between the box & column

BTW I think 87 was the last year for manual steering

get a borgeson steering shaft, the impossible part to find is the pitman arm, don't buy a box unless it has one on it because you cant find one

i see several manual steering boxes, with steering shafts for sale using google. i looked at '86 models, to find them. seems to be around 200 bucks for them, some with free shipping even.

I did the manual steering swap on mine.

Borgenson steering shaft is telescopic and eliminates that crappy box joint on the factory shaft and not to mention tightens everything up feel wise

I bought a remanned manual box and of course didn't come with the pitman arm, got lucky and found an NOS one after a month of searching

If you don't have one already its a great time to add the steering box frame brace while you are in there

Enjoy the arm workout, its fun with a 440 up front

I have the manaul box from a 85 d100 on my 88-440 truck with the frame/box brace/stock swaybar up front.

corners like it is on rails but does take a good amount of driver input to fly it.

manual steer + manual brakes + manaul shift + dirt roads = thumbs outside the steering wheel at all times doing lots of

Mine also has a 440. It should be a hand full.
