http://www.mcscc.org/ see schedule and flyer under www.myautoevents.com Anyone within reasonbale driving distance -- come on out to enter or watch the 2nd championship series points event of 2014. BLACKHAWK FARMS RACEWAY is a 2.1 mile twisty road course track located in South Beloit, ILLINOIS (NOT...Wisconsin)... just north and west of Rockford, Illinois, near the Wisconsin border. I'm planning to enter the hi-speed autocross event on Monday, May 26, 2014. Registration & tech inspection is through the morning; practice and timed runs after lunch (morning W2W races Monday morning, again). SAT and SUN (May 24/25) will be W2W races (I won't be there). I hope to see/meet some of you! BHF raceway has nice shade under the tress, restaurant, etc... including air hoses for your car's tires, and gas on-site. Pre-register soon if you want to save a little $$ to race; a small gate fee ~$10? is due at the gate if you only want to watch. Here's a link to the event FLYER and entire schedule for that weekend. http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.ShowFlyer?psevent_id=14606

The weather is always a factor... chance of passing rain at ~30% is nothing to be concerned about (I've been watching the forecast, too, and also saw only 20% chance... changes daily).... everyone will drive in the same environment.
The best offense is a good defense... attend for the "points" accumulated that race day, or else don't attend and forfeit any possible points accumulation... all towards the season championship. I have full-treaded tires (BFG Comp-2 G-Force), surprisingly they gripped very well, in my opinion, on the road course in the dry, and could favor to be better in the wet vs any other competitors running slick-type tires (Hoosiers)... and I'm aware at least one other competitior in my class is running Hoosiers.
See my signature below... become a better driver in the rain... I predict a beautiful day at the track! Hope to see some of you!

Quote:
These Mopars use to drive in the snow with studded tires and tire chains........
Now they are on a pedestal sitting in a climate controlled garage.
Thats why 90% of them are rusted out. My car is hardcore, no climate control in the garage, wish I had room for a pedestal though.

T/Anks everyone.... Although the weather had mild drizzle in the morning (during the 2.5 hour long endure W2W race), just before noon it cleared, sun came out, and was in the low 80s.... an excellent day of all-afternoon HSAX activity.
