Has anyone else had problems with the A&A 727 transbrake solenoid??

I have gone through 2 in the last couple months. First one just quit working at a car show late last summer. I replaced it this spring wiht a new one and it quit working right away. Getting tired of tearing off my pan and trying to save all the fluid. Plus it is not making me very confident to go driving.

Trans is a CRT Super Pro II Transbrake and no I am not accidentally leaving the solenoid engaged and all the wiring is correct.

Do u use the rad cooler? Might try a glycol test. Just had a cooler failure at work on an Allison trans, it shorts them out. Check ur pass through fitting, might be a problem there.

If ur not using the rad cooler u won't have any coolant in ur tranny fluid. We have kits at work, u put about 5cc's in a vial that has a solution in it, shake the vial, when it separate's u draw up whats on the bottom in a glass tube that has a gel in it. Lay the glass tube on a flat surface. If it turns purple, u have antifreeze in ur tranny fluid.

It's a stand alone cooler so it has no coolant in it.

Ok. That rules out water intrusion. Make sure ur getting full voltage to the solenoid. Other then that, i'm drawing a blank. I'd give Rick Allison a call see what he thinks. Hope u find something.

Does the solenoid fail to engage or is it the release...
check to see if that one runs a ground wire or a case
ground.... being its the second one you have something
going wrong... hopefully they have replaced them
at no cost
