Not 100% sure, but I believe that the diodes in the alternator were also date coded.

Well, are we disassembling the car? Cause if that's the case I can expand my list dramatically.......Seems silly though.

I agree, but for some reason a lot of people do (care about the dates on heads, Hemi especially). If someone is building an engine that might be sold away from a car casting dates are more likely to be important to, and inspected by, a buyer, where as if being used or sold in a complete car, it seems usually less important. Go figure

To me, it is interesting to record the history of an original car. Folks ask all the time,
"What is the build date of my car?".

There is no way to know for the 1970 model year, among others.

The car has a March date on on the Mylar door sticker, so I know that for sure. The 'newest' date code I have seen on the parts so far is March 23rd, so I have a date range that it was possibly built.

If the details narrow the gap from the 23rd to the 31st along the line it means nothing in the big scheme of things, but I am having fun looking into it.

On hidden dates like ring gears & heads I am not going to open the car up to check them unless a mechanical fix is needed at some point.
