VP-C12 or Sunoco Supreme 112????

Do you buy by the drum? If so, what are you paying for it in your area?

I am in the Houston area, and a few weeks ago we were racing at the Legends Nostalgic Drags in Sealy, TX.

We normally buy fuel at the track, but when we went to buy fuel on the Saturday, they had already run out of the C12. They sold out on the Friday night test and tune. We did have some fuel with us, but with 3 cars running, we didn't have enough. Basically as we were eliminated we started sharing fuel. Unfortunately there were buy backs, and we ended up getting eliminated. In a way it was good, because we would not have had enough fuel to go much more than one more round.

I never want to go through that again, so I will probably buy a drum.

I was curious which fuel you prefer, and what you pay for it in your area?

We run the sunoco supreme 112. From the research we did on fuels it seams that sunoco has a more consistent blend. We have ran VP befores and always fog the motor afterwards because of the residue it leaves behind. We can get 54 gallons of sunoco for $468. A 55 gallon drum of sunoco actually has 54 gallons in it.

I have run both and have seen no difference in performance.
Sunoco is cheaper.

I was a little shocked at the prices I got today. Called a couple of places and th Sunoco is running $10 gal. The VP they quoted me $585.90 for a drum. Now that I think about it I didn't ask if that included tax....

I have been using Sunoco Supreme for several seasons. Had the heads off this winter and discovered that my exhaust valves were badly pitted. My engine guy felt that the fuel may be the problem. Have any of you guys had pitted valves? So, this year I am trying VP C-12. I paid $685 for a 54 gallon drum, ouch! What are you guys paying?
