Just pulled out the poly 318 and cable shift trans, and installed the 383 w/ a later 727. The trans mount doesn't line up. Do I need a 66 and later trans mount?

Probally need the later tranny cross member It has been a while since I've done the early B body to later 727 swap, I'm almost positive you need the later tranny crossmember to make it bolt in and work with no other mods except maybe drilling two new holes in the later cross member and maybe sltting one side of the new cross member to seat up to your exeisting tranny subframes That may be on the A bodys though, to many swaps to long ago

I replaced a Poly 318 cable shift set up in my '65 Belvedere with a 440 and later model 727 using Schumacher mounts. Everything else fit when I used those mounts.

Did you use the same trans rubber mount off the 65 trans? What engine mounts did you use? I have a 64 and everything bolted right back up. How far is it off? Did you swap to a later k-frame?

Early B-Body Polyurethane Conversion Tranny Mount

Converting an early B-Body to a '66 or newer tranny just got a lot easier — thanks to our new conversion tranny mount that eliminates the need for cross-member fabrication. Made with high-quality polyurethane, our new tranny mount offers durability that far surpasses the Chrysler original.

I used the schumaker mounts. Nothing else was changed. The trans is out of a 68 Chrysler Newport I believe. It still has the single wire neutral safety switch but is not cable shifter. Thanks for the replies.

Looks like I'll be ordering their trans mount now. Thanks for the info.

Used the Schumacher conversion mount in my '63 and it works perfectly!
