Ok, here is what I've got. New brake lines, and hoses. Dot 5 fluid. The hoses came from NAPA, and they leak where they go into the caliper. I have 71 factory single piston rebuilt pin type calipers, also from NAPA, and they have a flair in the inlet port. The hoses also have a flair in the end. I tried with, and without copper washers, but they leak either way. I have tightened them about as much as I dare. Does anybody have a suggestion?

those hoses have a concave inverted flare shaped end fitting to mate to the convex inverted flare in the caliper. No washer needed & they were put in there by mistake on the assembly line. It seals on the convex/concave cone interface not the threads or the washers (which ain't supposed to be in there (they are for banjo hoses) so the mating surfaces must be smooth/undamaged. Good visual & screw em in fairly tight (you're sealing 1500 psi).

RR i have the same ones.Pulled the OEs from a junker.Mine had washers factory.I still run washers and have for the last 10 years.I used the ones that came with the OE calipers.Either the washers are too thin or the hoses arent orientied correct. That or there are burrs on the caliper or hose.Rocky

You may need to add a second washer if the bottom of the banjo fitting is hitting the caliper before the thread seals.

This is a 71, they didn't have banjo fittings. I understand the inverted flare thing, but both sides? That seems strange that both sides leak, when everything is new. But then again the hoses are Kug Fu hoses. Does anybody anywhere have US made hoses?
