I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake that came with chrome bolts. What's the best thing to use on the threads to keep engine oil from seeping out? I've had this manifold on for several years and two of the inner bolts decided to start to leaking. I tried black Permatex but that only sealed up one bolt. The other still wants to seep. This is on my 383 engine.

not using anything chrome. Maybe you could hit each thread w/ a whire wheel real good and knock off the "chrome" Then use teflon tape.

Would pipe paste (teflon tape like) work?

Thanks.

PS, I might switch to stainless steal bolts. ??

Best bolts are the ARP stainless ones. They make a set for the Mopar big block. I use them on every engine I build. They have a nice bullet nose that helps get them started and they should seal up fine with a little bit of RTV.

Putting acken-poo-key on threads makes me ask, "where can this stuff end up?"
