I currently have the standard Edelbrock Victor heads on a 500ci 440 drag engine with an old Offenhauser tunnel ram. I am looking to upgrade to a Indy Tunnel Ram which appears to have Max Wedge ports.

So my question is, can the standard Victors simply be opened to Max Wedge port size without too much hassle?

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. Found on every site that sells them except Edelbrock that they can be.

How do you like that old Offenhasuer? Many younger folks never heard of them. A magazine dyno test gave it poor marks against the Weiand but they admitted they had to run AFB style carbs on the Offy where the Weiand ran some more race suited Holleys.

Keep old mopars alive.

Mine is modified. It's not using the big plenum anymore as it had to modified to except a fuel injection hat. So now it is like the bottom piece has 2 2inch spacers adapted to it.

Haven't compared it to anything else as it was just what we had at the time.

It's on a 500ci 440 with 12.5:1, OOTB edelbrock Victors, .700 lift 283/288 @ .050 Solid roller and 2x alcohol 750 quick fuel.

Thinking the manifold is holding us back as it's not making power above 6000. Normally shift at 6200 and went 10.09 @ 132mph. Shifted at 6500 and 10.19 @ 131mph. And running out in the top end. This is at 3100lbs.

Would have liked to have done a back to back with the Indy, but looks like we have to open up the heads...

Have since found that we were actually sent the wrong camshaft by Summit. We have 2 sizes smaller in the engine. Explains everything.

I ordered and my father installed, hence not picking it up... 2.5 years too late...
