I'm looking at a set of headers for my Charger.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/big-33130flt/overview/make/dodge/model/charger/year/1968

Summit claims they will not work with Power steering.
Do you think I can adapt to my combo?

1968 Charger, 400 cu engine, auto trans, power brakes, Power steering.

This is the only ceramic header I have found so far.

Thanks
Ron

really? there are many ceramic coated headers out there. tho with summit you should be looking up for a 68 charger with a 383 as their crossreference system won't think a 68 mopar with a 400 exists. also I have found summit headers will work with ps but will need a bit of not exactly what you want to do to a coated header.

Thanks for the input. I tried using a 383. It showed a Hooker header but 160 dollars more.
I may have too keep looking.

nobody said coated headers are cheap. there's something to be said for buying an uncoated header, test fitting it, clearancing if need be, then having it coated.

I didnt want to hear it when I was looking, but for a little more money you will get a much nicer quality and fitting header. Im glad I did listen. I went with Dougs. They have the same thick flanges and tubes as TTI, pipe routing is excellent, goes over the suspension so install was much easier and quicker, the wont hang low and bottom out, plug access is amazing, and ceramic coated was still more than $150 less than TTI but with equal quality. They installed easily with motor in the car. Just look at my plug clearance on both banks.

He thought Hookers were too expensive, so we sent him to look at Dougs??! Cant wait to see how this turns out.

FWIW: If the Summit application chart says it wont fit with Power Steering.... LISTEN (DAMHIK).

Bang for Buck.... My opinion is that Hooker Comps are tough to beat. Reasonable price for a solid, proven product.

Roe put a BB in and see how open the plugs are.SB and BB are totally different for plug clearance.I havent seen too many sets made for a B body that wouldnt fit with PS.On my old trucks I ran Summits brand.Even had them on the Jeep and the 66 Charger SB.They fit great for the price.Rocky

I found the set I needed.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g9...e-size/6-3l-383

I would like too be able to afford a TTI or Doug's set but I plan on installing Fuel injection and every Dollar counts.

Thanks for all your help

Ron
