If you had the cash and desire to design a new cylinder head for a big block what would you change? I would like a modern combustion chamber and valves placed on the centerline of the cylinder. 300cfm intakes and 210cfm exhausts out of the box and work with standard rocker gear, intakes and headers.
Last they need to look like a production head.

If you are bored after that I would like a cross ram intake that looks like a stock max wedge but performs like a good single plane.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

Seems like a well priced after market block is the real problem right now....

As for the heads, the market for the ultra high end is limited, and the market for low cost aluminum alternative is bigger...Which end do most manufacturers want to be in only takes one guess...

My personal preference is always to see them push the envelope to the next level, maybe a production based Hemi 99 head with an option for bore spacing....But then again how many Predator motors do you see out there?

And if I had to guess where this hobby is heading, I would say the future is in the small blocks. Pretty soon, it will be tough to get the old factory parts and the current after market heads are exceeding their Hp limits easily. I would say if you re-created an after market G3 Hemi, that accepts many of the factory parts, you might be further ahead....Like an aftermarket block that takes factory heads but can be stroked further....Billet G3 heads would be really awesome too for the procharger guys...

What kinda "money no object" proposal are you really looking for? Most look at return on investment over a set time frame...

Since the big block already has entry level E-heads, next level Indy heads, upper level B1 heads and altered configuration Predator heads, that market, except for modernization of available parts, seems pretty well supplied.

I'd like to see a state of the art HEMI head for a 4.800 block.
