I need input on tail light bezels for my 69 Road Runner. Should I have mine redone and who does restoration of these bezels? Any recommendations?

The cost to have them redone far exceeds the cost of repros, I'd recommend BEAParts, I had a customers's 69 RR, he chose this route rather than spend close to $1K for potmetal repair/chroming...the repro looked just as nice as NOS and fit very well, repro lenses are available too, should you need those as well

My opinion is there is some fine details lost or missing from the repop. Although they do look nice and shiney, I prefer hard to find good originals.

There are some sharp edges that get smoothed out in the repop.
Good originals or Nos pretty hard to come by

Even if you have good originals, there is a good chance that they will blister up during the rechroming job. Trust me....$180 for each side only to have blisters when I got the parts back.

Who did the re-chrome on your bezels?

I had mine rechromed and came out a little less in price, but chrome is less expensive down here. I understand the fit of the repops isn't that great.

I think it was Lebrandi's near Harrisburg, PA. I could be wrong. For the most part, they were able to get the area which was chromed bubble free while the other areas that were painted had the bubbles or pits which I just ground down and filled with fibered body filler and smoothed out.

That place was recommended to me for other chrome work. I had mentioned Paul's for the bezels. I have a couple sets of used nice not perfect I was thinking of getting 1 set done. Also have a couple nos one side
GTX bezels look extra difficult

all in all they did a pretty good job on them. I just had to paint them which masking them off was a royal pain. Almost as bad as restoring the grille for the GTX!

Thanks everyone for the input. Looks like some nice stuff. I am on the hunt for a nice original set if I can find some with at a reasonable price. So far the stuff on ebay is not nice enough to much pitting.
