Are the front coil springs on a Lil Red Express the same as any other 78-79 D-150???

I have not looked yet, but I would check the listings at www.rockauto.com. I bought a new set of coils for my '87 D100 and it seems to me there were several optional coils that would fit the truck.

LRE didn't get a special spring according to the Factory parts catalog I have

Rear springs are 3/4 ton units used only to get around EPA laws requiring cat converters LRE is the only short bed truck or long for that matter to have a weight rating like that to get around the law

That explains why they are so damn high in the rear. I love those trucks, but bone stock, they just don't look right to me nowadays. But when I was 6 years old when they came out, who cares...they were the greatest thing to me next to a black 78 Trans Am and orange '69 Charger.
