I should clarify that some, so....

No holes for wheel well molding trim on 1970 Challengers with the 340-4 or 340-6 because they did not come with the moldings.

It has been discussed here many times.

Rolled Challenger fenders exist, they have 1971 part numbers & the '71 notch' at the front & they all appear to have been replacement parts so far.

One guy will say Creative Industries modified them but he has no real proof.

I have compared 1970 Challenger fenders from my T/A, a Hemi car, 318 cars, 1971 cars & found no rolled lips on any of them.

One pre-production planning letter does mention that fender modification may be needed for the 15" tires.

Not long after that, a new letter was published saying that the fender mods were no longer needed because they decided to use smaller front tires, so there was no longer an issue.

I am not afraid to be proved wrong, no one ever learns anything if they are 'right' all the time.

So, if anyone has real proof of different fenders on these cars I would really LOVE to see it, honest.

I have never seen a 1971 notched fender on an all original 1970 model year car, but I have seen left over 1970 fenders on early 1971 cars.

The document page from Oct. 2, 1969 about ALL the tires being G series & the possible fender rework is at http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipLetters/action%20letter2-2.jpg

The document from Oct 15, 1969 - The new combination of G & E series tires is mentioned - note the "Challenger rework" comment, actually mentioned twice.

If anyone has the Plymouth versions of these letters for the AAR I would LOVE to see them.

The "notched" '71 Challenger fenders started showing up spring of '71. The "notches" are for the attachment points on a '72 model year body color grill surround.

IMO the notch indicates the '72 grill was finalized before the side marker lights were STANDARDIZED across the board for '72, making any leftover fenders at the end of the '71 production year - replacement '70-'71 parts & used superseded part numbers to fit every combination.

I've seen early original paint AARs with the same "rolled" fenders the HEMI'Cudas have.

If you are speaking of me BW I never said anything about TA fenders, only 1970 Hemi E body fenders.Only until the factory modified fenders were ready in early March of 70.Those were stamped not rolled. If the Creative modified fenders are not on a 70 car they were removed over time since the experts did not think they were factory fenders. Some were removed due to an accident.

The hood design for TA and 340 Six Pak E-bodies were done at Creative.

I worked at Creative. I did the fender mods.I worked on the hoods.

I take offence to your thinly veiled attack on my character.

I have two AARs and both have original paint. My orange car is not rolled. It was built on 4 09. My green car has rolled fenders. The pass side has been replaced with an NOS fender at some time and the fender repainted. It has the rolled lip and it still has the stenciled part number visible on the inside of the fender. Both lips are rolled. The the green car was built on 3-31.

I know I have a California built '70 with rolled fenders. Are they original? Don't know for sure as I'm the 3'rd owner. It also has an 8.75 with factory appearing pinion snubber. Not common for an original 318/auto WSS I think. My guess is it started down the line as something else and got changed... or was built with parts that were available and not necessarily called out on that particular order. The fenders appear to be stamped with the "rolled" lip not actually rolled.

Regardless, I'm glad to have them as I am running wider front tires and every little bit helps.
