We run Summits stainless flex fans.IIRC mine is 18 inchs on my 65 440 with shroud. Its been on at least 20 years.Keeps the BB at 180 all day even when its in the 90s.My kids 413 runs the same with no shroud and has been on at least 8 years.Had a smaller one on my Jeep years ago.I ran it for at least 10 years and plowed with it.It almost ran too cold in the winter.Rocky

not to step on Rocky's toes but i've used the stock viscous fan setup for years without issue.

another vote for the stainless blades of death. Sure they will cut you open if you so much as look at them crooked, but they do an awesome job cooling. When I ran one I painted it black so it wasnt so obvious.

I'm using the 5 blade MP viscous fan on my car now and I like it. I have used the one piece plastic fan on my old engine and that thing really moved some air. Gus

I have the 7-blade Mopar Clutch fan with a Hayden viscous. Always with a shroud. 440+727. Used to never get past 170º..These days it climbs to 200º...but I have to flush my cooling, its been years.
I couldn't find any for my buddy's 72' Roadrunner so we opted for the 5-blade with viscous clutch. His is a 440 4spd car and his temperature never gets past 170º.
Had another friend with a 68 Coronet 383 and he had a flex fan on his until it committed suicide...the fan blade sheared clean off and shredded his hood....It was half in and half out of the hood. Luckily he was driving and not adjusting something under the hood...could have proven fatal

Dont really need a shroud.Look at a lot of OE Mopars. Most did not have shrouds.Ive had them since the 60s and most didnt have a shroud.Rocky

Depends on the year also.My 65 you are hard pressed to put a clutch fan on.66 up not a problem. My SS flex is as light as a plastic one.Been on like I said at least 20 years and no problems.Only fan I had break was a factory steel one.Luckily it was on start up and didnt do much damage.Rocky

There is only one Best Mechanical Fan
That would be the stock Viscous. It moves the air and consumes the Least amount of HP of All the other mechanical fans.
But I did use the Summit black plastic fan on my last build because it was so light. Only to learn later that it was one of the bigger HP consumers of all the other tested fans.
That Fan test is still floating around somewhere here on Moparts.
