Tape a large piece of cardboard to the floor under the brake hub and plumb bob all the key points onto it. The leaf spring line, wheel well lip, hub face, etc. Then you can easily measure all the opening you have available and the backspace that will work.
I have 10" Cragars with 28x12 MTs in the wheel wells of my Cuda.
P.S. I have a '66 B body 8 3/4 in the car.

Is your rear width E or B body width?
It'll work either way. I run them on a challenger with E body width rear end. I had to clearance the inside fender flange on one side to clear the sidewall of the tire during spirited driving.
Next time I'm using a B body width rear end and it would be perfect with 15X10" wheels with 5.5" BS.

I have the B Body rear with Dr. Diff offets as well....from the outer lip of my rim I can barely fit a yardstick to the fender lip....
What year is the B-body rear?

plenty of inner clearance
Are the wheels 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing?
That appears to be a lot of inside clearance but that might change depending on the tire size.
I'm planning on installing a 1970 B body rear under the wife's Challenger.
The rims for the rear I bought many many years ago and are custom built Torque Thrusts 15x10" with 5.75" back spacing.
The extra 1/4" of back spacing should help keep the tire away from inside of the quarter panels.
I have 325/50-15 BFG drag radials for the car.
I was anticipating tinking with different thickness wheel spacers to get the rims perfectly centered, I would love to have all the inside clearance your picture shows.

I don't know the specs for an E body
Maybe it was built to the E-body spec ?
if you look at the posted pic you may notice the weighted strings hanging at the inner tires
drop some string down from the wheel flange, to the floor to get the full width of that rear end

Yea,when we put the moser rear under the rampage (2010) the Sales person at that time asked if I wanted the ford/dodge housing ends on the rear. I didn't think anything about it until we went to set the 8 3/4 alum carrier into a 9" (ford)housing flange

I think the E Body Spec is 30 and 31 but I am not positive...and since the rear is 3 years old...lol Funny part is that they put the correct B Body pads on it as it matched the offset kit just fine. I appreciate the help from everyone....I will have to stick to a 8" rim with as big a tire as I can fit.
See if your axles have extra spline length and can be shortened some more. Many times aftermarket axles can be cut down another inch. Looks like you have the 10" wheels and that is your goal, I'd see if I could cold cut another 1" off each axle and then have the housing shortened 2".
Or return your rims and get 6.5" backspacing. Or have the backspacing changed on your rims to 6.5".
You rims will not look at deep when viewed from the side though. If you are running rallye rims, they will end up looking just like a typical 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing.
