Mix up a slight salt solution in tap water. Then mist the wires and cap down with a spray bottle. If you can do it where its a bit dark even better.Thats all I used at work for 30 years.Found many bad wires ,caps and plugs that way.Sometime you will get a carbon track on the plug porcelian and great what you have.Rocky

http://wynns.ca/data/msds/english/xtend/10014.pdfSpecific gravity is 0.97 which is less than water and salty water would be 1.01 or more MSDS says decomposition products may contain nitrogen or carbon so maybe dissolved ionic fertilizer in water? Gently sliding a grounded screwdriver along each wire sounds safe and simple.

I used Hi Volt for years before getting out, I should shop around for more 'cause the stuff was awesome for finding bad ignition wires.
Pull into a dark shop and spray, if the wires were bad like July 4th!
