Hey Dennis. Will these photos help you?

Look at the wire and the fastener area for Identification. This controls the Def. unless I am mistaken.

next connection and cable...Unless I am mistaken this is the Temp connection because it controls the amount of air going across the heater core.

the top pic , i was having problems with the control switch on the dash . Opening and closing. Now after i took out the actual heater switch, Im not sure if the straight wire or the "L" shaped the one that goes to that top pic, goes to the top or the bottom of the actual control panel. In the second pic what does the wire that connects to the actual heater control look like ? Thanks for the pics

The closest one to being "L" shaped (mine has a curve in it) is the wire in the lower photo and it is also the longest of the two wires. Which would make since. The shorter wire as in the top photo would go to the flap in the first photo and the longer wire to the flap in the second photo.

If you look close at the photos you will also see that the mounting "bracket" for the heater control unit has a round hole and in the lower photo it has an oval hole.

Hope that helps. Joe

Is the other end of your defrost/heater wire, the one that goes to the vent/heater/defrost switch to the left of the steering wheel. Is it straight ? mine is L shaped, i cant for the life of me figure out how it mounts to the end of the switch. It seems like it would bind up. thats the pic i would like to see, not sure if someone put the wrong thing together, maybe thats why it didnt work to begin with

I may be misunderstanding you, but that first photo shows both ends in it. One end is connected to the flap still and the other end that goes to the switch is just below it. I just bent it around in the photo so you can see it. As you can see the end that goes to that switch is not L shaped..it is straight.
